Patricia “Patt” Ann Grady Bayer of Waco, Texas, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at the age of 65 with her loved ones by her side.
Patt was born February 22, 1957, in Plymouth, Michigan, to James and Jacquelyn Grady. She made her way to Texas in 1976, where she married Mark D. Bayer in 1978. Together, they raised three children, Jason D. Bayer, Jacquelyn J. Bayer, and Matthew D. Bayer, and enjoyed all life had to offer.
Always one to live in the moment, Patt left an indelible mark wherever she went. After years of working in a Waco-based factory, she tapped her creative side as a certified floral designer, which included designing an arrangement that was used on the set of a Barbara Walters interview with President George W. Bush. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed cooking and finding treasures at estate and garage sales, which fed her affinity for antiques and collectibles.
Patt’s eclectic style and zest for life brought countless laughs and offers cherished memories for her family to treasure. Family was what Patt held most dear as she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and bestowing on them her vast knowledge of classic rock music and Lord of the Rings.
She is survived by her husband, Mark; son, Jason and his wife VeLisa; daughter, Jacquelyn; son, Matthew and his wife, Kristie South; sister, Jeannie Marie Grady-Wood; grandchildren, Tristen Bayer, Haden Bayer, Madisyn Davis, Avery Bayer, Timothy Davis, Gwendolyn Bayer and Daniel Davis; and great-granddaughter, Ariana Bayer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Jacquelyn; brothers, Timothy, Daniel and Randall Grady; and sister, Glenda Burnside.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Baylor Scott & White Hospice–Waco to express gratitude for the care and comfort they provided Patt and her family during her final days.
