Patricia Lilian Carter, 88 of Rosebud, Texas passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loving family on March 24, 2018.

Patricia was born on October 12, 1929 in Southend on Sea, Essex England to Frederick E. and Phyllis Bessie Gibbs. She was a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend.
Patricia began studying dance at age 5. She performed ballet and tap among others many times for audiences in Southern England. She performed on one of England’s earliest television broadcasts. She continued to perform until she met a handsome young sailor named Stanley Carter whom she married on January 4, 1947.
Her younger sister Shirley and husband Earl Cornelius along with her parents and younger brother Anthony had moved to the United States after World War II. Deciding to join the family, Patricia, Stanley and their two young sons Philip Anthony and Bruce Dudley set sail on February 25, 1956 on the Queen Elizabeth for America, eventually settling in Houston, Texas. In December 1961, they were blessed with a daughter, Susan Victoria. After Stanley retired in 1993, he and Patricia moved to Georgetown, Texas. Stanley passed away shortly after in 1993. Patricia stayed in Georgetown until 2005, when she joined her daughter Susan and husband Fine Bedford in Walburg, Texas. She again joined her daughter and son-in-law and moved to Rosebud, Texas in 2017.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband Stanley Carter; her parents Frederick and Phyllis Gibbs; her sister Shirley Cornelius and grandson Christopher Cody Carter. She is survived by her sons, Philip Anthony Carter and wife, Mary Lou of Eddy, Texas and Bruce Dudley Carter and wife, Lori of Houston, Texas; daughter, Susan Victoria Bedford and husband, Fine of Rosebud, Texas; brother, Anthony Alexander Gibbs of New Waverly, Texas; six grandchildren: Amanda, Melanie, Justin, Ryan, Shane and Sean; and two great-grandchildren, Sadie Ann and Linley.
