Memorial Service: 11AM Thursday, December 17th at First Baptist Church in China Spring with Rev. Michael Copeland officiating. Private inurnment will be at Prairie Hill Cemetery.
Pauline Hargrove was born on August 1, 1930 to Samuel and Annie Mae (Pomykal) Baty in Falls County, Texas. Pauline grew up in the Riesel area. She graduated from Reisel High School in 1947. Shortly after high school, she married Bill Hargrove Jan. 1, 1948. Bill was in the service, and stationed at various bases around the country . They came back to the Waco area after he left the military. She was a life long resident of Woodway, until her death.
Pauline was very active in the daycare community. She was employed at several daycares in the area, as well as the nursery at First Baptist Church China Spring. She also worked as a live-in nanny for several families over the years. She spent hours of her time training at workshops as well, to further her education in the day care industry. Pauline also had professional and personal ties to Little Cougar’s Daycare in China Spring.
Pauline loved the children. In her time at FBC, you could usually look over the door of the nursery and see her on the floor playing with the babies. Babies were her passion, and they were crazy about her. We are all very fortunate to have had her looking after them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hargrove and granddughter, Lindsey Leigh Davis.
Survivors include daughter, Jill Davis and husband, Jeff of Red Oak; grandson, Robert Davis and wife, Paris of Ennis; sisters, Irene Cadell and husband, James Lynn of Hallsburg, Lou Stone and husband, William E. of Hallsburg; brother, George Baty of Hallsburg; nephew, Walter Kent and wife, Emily of Lorena; and numerous other relatives.
The family wishes to express their thanks to Southern Care Hospice and Royal Manor of Waco, especially Jackie, Sharon and Timothy.

Dear Jill and & Family,
Your Mother was dear to our hearts. My daughter, Erin, was her first baby at First Baptist China Spring. She was devoted to the children and was such a help to so many families. She was a sweet Christian lady and we were blessed for having known her.
God bless you and keep you.
Hargrove family, I’m sure you already know this, but Miss Pauline was a true jewel. I had the pleasure of knowing her since 2004 when she took care of our sweet baby boy. His name is James, but she called him “Little Tiger” because she said he reminded her of a little Tiger Woods with his skin color and complexion. She was the sweetest lady ever. She would even come by the storage where I worked and would visit with me. She will be truly missed by so many. I am thankful I had the privilege of knowing her. You are in our prayers.
Pauline, or Miss Pauline as my children called her was more than a babysitter, she became a member of our family. She was sweet, kind and we trusted her completely to babysit our 2 and to keep them over night as well. She was a blessing to us and so many others.
