Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Penny Diane Dameron Boyd, 71, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 in China Spring.
Service Information:
Family only graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 26, at China Spring Cemetery with Pastor Mike Copeland serving as officiant.
Penny was born January 8, 1950 in Waco, Texas to J.S. “Pete” and Hazel Mae Dameron. Penny and her siblings enjoyed a happy childhood in China Spring where they helped with the family’s dairy farm. On November 22, 1968, Penny married the love of her life, Glen Boyd of Waco, to whom she remained married for 53 wonderful years. She enjoyed traveling with friends, gospel and country music, romantic movies, bluebonnet flowers, and especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren.
Penny worked and retired from AT&T as an Engineer Drafting Clerk. She had a strong Christian faith and was an active member of First Baptist Church of China Spring, the Daughters of the Nile, and the China Spring Civic Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Karen Kay Hammonds.
Penny is survived by her loving husband, Glen Dale Boyd; brother, Grady Del Dameron; sons, Gary Dale Boyd and his wife, Nina and Andrew Glen Boyd and his wife, Jill; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, Maggie, and Drew; and many other friends and relatives who cared for her deeply.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Karem Shrine Motor Patrol.
