Phyllis Hunter, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed peacefully from this world to eternity Thursday, December 21, 2023 at the age of 92.
She was born in Port Austin, Michigan, May 1, 1931 to Phillip and Frances Voss, one of seven children. She grew up in that area and married Karl Hunter. They soon moved to Jackson, Michigan where they were both employed and began their family. They had four children: Kristine, Karlene, Kurt and Kari. Phyllis often made clothes for her girls and spent time helping in 4H. She worked 30+ years for the state of Michigan as a supervisor. When she retired she spent much of her time helping with grandchildren and later caring for her husband, Karl who passed in 2013. After a couple of years living alone, she moved to an assisted living facility and later a memory care facility in Waco, TX to be near her oldest daughter Kris. Dementia finally overcame her and she passed into eternity to her Heavenly home.
She will be remembered by many as a sweet, hardworking lady who loved her children and grandchildren.
Her six siblings have all passed along with her husband, Karl, and daughter, Kari.
She is survived by her daughters, Kris Huff and husband, Roger of Waco, TX, and Karlene Knirk and husband, Ernie of Dallas, TX; son, Kurt Hunter and wife, Kim of Jackson, MI; nine grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.
She will forever be remembered.

Phillis was a wonderful a caring lady with a warm heart , I remember her smile a great weekends @ the farm & swimming in their pool , she will be missed . John Hunter
