Quenton Ray Liles “Boony” of Waco, Texas passed away on May 21, 2024, at the age of 74 after a long battle with complications from Covid.  He knew with his complications that his time was coming near and decided to give his life to Christ.

Celebration of Life:  2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Bible Way Church, 2800 Gurley Ave. Waco, TX 76711 with Pastor David Arnett officiating.

Boony or “Q.R.”, as his family and friends called him, was born on September 6, 1949, to Gilbert “Gib” Quenton and Martha Ruth Liles in Waco, Texas. After Boony graduated from La Vega High School in 1968, he went on to attend McLennan Community College until he was drafted into the military on March 19, 1970, during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force on February 12, 1974. After his discharge from the Air Force, he came back to Texas to work alongside his dad and two brothers at the family business, G.Q. Liles & Sons Masonry Contractors.

While stationed at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines, Boony met and married Carmelita “Lita” Domingo from Balibago Pampanga, and to this union, their daughter Mary Jane “MJ” was born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida where he was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base.

After working for over forty years in the Masonry business he retired to spend his time with his daughter and grandsons. They enjoyed gardening, fishing together, and going to the coast for some family time to fish and crab. Even though long distance kept him from seeing his precious granddaughter Lily, he very much loved her.

Boony was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert “G.Q.” and Martha Liles; brothers, Ronnie and Rickey Liles; longtime friend and support, Nancy Ballew; and his special grandson, whom he cherished, Matthew Quenton Liles-Nealon.

He is Survived by his daughter Mary Jane “MJ” Sauseda and husband Chris Sauseda of San Antonio, Texas; two joys in his life – grandson, Ray Liles-Nealon and granddaughter, Lily of San Antonio, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Becky & Jerry Boynton of Lorena, Texas; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Special Thanks to Guadalupe and Jody Nevarez and family along with Becky and Jerry Boynton and family for their unwavering love and support during this difficult time. Also, Special Thanks to Sister Reba and Pastor David Arnett from Bible Way Church and Jim Geeslin at Lake Shore Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Bible Way Church at biblewaywaco.com

M J, Ray and Lily, so sorry for your loss. James and Boony used to sit in their trucks on Old Temple Rd blocking traffic drinking a cold one when they got off work. James still tells stories about that and how the area has changed. May God Bless and prayers to each of you. Love, Linda and James
