Rafael Rosas, 81, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 29th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, in Waco.

Graveside Service:
10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30th at Oakwood Cemetery.

Rafael was born September 5, 1935 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to Juan and Tomasa (Otero) Rosas. He married Miriam Cruz on April 18, 1959 in Brooklyn, New York. Rafael and Miriam lived their life in New York City until they moved to Waco in 1995.

Rafael enjoyed life with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved collecting vinyl records of his favorite Spanish singers and trios. But his favorite pastime of all was playing dominoes. He was the Champ at dominoes and no one was ever able to beat him at the game. He loved singing and dancing, especially with the love of his life, Mom. He had a prayer-walk ministry and spent much of his later life before entering the nursing home walking and praying around the neighborhood for the needs of the people and community.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edgar, Francisco, Miguel, Ismael; and sister, Hilda.

Survivors included are his sister, Miriam Lebron; brother; Ernesto Rosas; his daughters, Miriam Pastrana and husband, Eddie and Theresa Rankin and husband, Joe; son; Johnny Rosas; grandchildren, Jessica, Natalie, Matthew, Ashleigh, Shianne, Josiah and Jonathan; great-grandchildren; Julia, Emma, Sophia, Cataleya and Gloriana.
