Raul Y. Rodriguez, 68, of Waco, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at his residence.

Funeral Service: 1PM Monday, October 25 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Raul Y. Rodriguez was born in Raymondville Texas on October 30, 1952 to father, Raul R. Rodriguez and mother, Raquel Y. Rodriguez. Raul lived most of his childhood in Robstown, Texas. He later moved to Victoria, Texas and then to Marlin, Texas to help his father in the ministry. He joined the Marines in 1972 and was stationed in San Diego, California and later on he attended McLennan Community College where he joined the police academy and became a police officer where he later worked for several years in Marlin. He was a man of many talents but his true passion was working with his father to establish Waco Painting here in Waco, which he passed on to his son several years ago to continue his legacy.
Unfortunately Raul lost his battle to Cancer and all the family cries for his loss. He will be forever remembered as a great husband, father, grandfather, hard working man committed to his family.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Rodriguez; sisters, Delia Sabido and Abigail Garcia; daughter, Renee Rodriguez; and sons, Ronnie V. Rodriguez, Maritere Valadez, Ely Matus, and Claudia Figueroa & Giselle Vento; brothers-in-law, Pastor Arturo Sabido, and Cruz Garcia; daughter-in-law, Amy Rodriguez; sons-in-law,  Juan Manuel Valadez, Arturo Matus and Orlando Figueroa; and 13 grandkids, 8 great grandkids, cousins, nephews, and many other beloved family members.

Raul Y. Rodriguez nacio el 30 de Octubre de 1952 en Raymondville Texas hijo del Pastor Raul R. Rodriguez y de Raquel Y. Rodriguez le sobreviven sus hermanas Delia Sabido y Abigail Garcia su esposa Maria Teresa Rodriguez sus hijos Renee A. Rodriguez (+) Ronnie V. Rodriguez,  Maritere Valadez, Ely Matus, Claudia Figueroa, Giselle Vento. Cuñados Pastor Arturo Sabido, Cruz Garcia,  su nuera Amy Rodriguez, yernos Juan Manuel Valadez, Arturo Matus, y Orlando Figueroa  Sus 13 nietos y  8 bisnietos, primos, sobrinos y demas queridos familiares.
Raul vivio su infancia en Robstown Texas, despues se mudaron a Victoria Texas y posteriormente a Marlin Texas debido al plan de Pastorado de su padre, en 1972 se uniò a la Marines en San Diego California,  mas tarde se preparo en MCC Community College en la carrera de Policia que ejerciò exitosamente en  Marlin Texas, fue Manager de Southern Health Insurance en Victoria Texas, años despues se entrego al ministerio de Prisiones en Texas por 7 años, fue un hombre de muchos talentos pero su verdadera pasion fue trabajar junto a su padre para establecer Waco Painting Company aqui en Waco Texas misma que heredò a su hijo Ronnie quien al dia de hoy la trabaja exitosamente continuando su legado.
Desafortunadamente perdio su lucha contra el Cancer despues de 6 años su familia llora su partida y sera por siempre recordado como un gran esposo, padre,abuelo y bisabuelo, un hombre de trabajo entregado a su familia.

  3. Raul, you were a beautiful man – the definition of a family man and a role model that I look up to. We had fantastic times together over drinks of Corona while watching boxing matches, and any time you need tech help, I was always glad to help you out. You are forever a friend and a big brother to me and I hope we can see each other again one day and talk about the Cowboys winning the Super Bowl! Gone too soon.
