Ray Stine Douglas, 87, of Waco, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021. Funeral services will be 10AM Thursday, September 2 at Lake Shore Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Huff officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The service will be live-streamed through the funeral home’s website. Visitation will be 5 to 7PM Wednesday, September 1 at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.

Ray was born June 6, 1934 in Killeen to Wilburn and Evelyn (Rambo) Douglas. He married Joanne Row on March 12, 1955 and they were married 54 years until her passing in 2009. Ray was also preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Roy Bryan; brother, Billy Wayne; and sisters, Lois Doss and Dorthey Farr.

Ray enjoyed being around and serving people. He was in the grocery business most of his life as a manager with Piggly Wiggly. In later years he owned a painting business but the job he loved most was working at the front desk at Providence Hospital where he always had a smile and never met a stranger. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years as well as the Beverly Hills and Waco Founders Lions Club for over 40 years where he served as past president. Ray always looked forward to the annual Lions pecan sale, I’m sure many of you purchased from him over the years! He was a longtime member of Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene.

Ray is survived by his son, Kevin and wife Gwen of Woodway; daughters, Brenda Larson, Patti Storm, both of Waco, and Lori Hill of Palestine; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and his beloved Shih Tzu, Anderson. The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice and Dr. Tim Martindale for their professional care and compassion.

Memorials may be made to Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, Waco Founders Lions Club, or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Place of Service: Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel , 5201 Steinbeck Bend; Waco, TX 76708
