Raymond Lee Marcum (Ray), 74, of Riesel, TX passed away on September 8, 2022, at Baylor Scott and White – Hillcrest following a battle with cancer.
Memorial Service: Sunday September 18th at 4:00 pm at Bridge Church located at 3109 Harrison Street in Bellmead with Pastor Jacob Forest presiding. The family will hold a private graveside service at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
Ray was born February 28, 1948, to Howard Russell and Evylene Juanita (Bailey) Marcum. He was born and raised in Logan County, West Virginia. After high school he joined the workforce. He joined the army on October 1, 1970, and was honorably discharged. Ray made his way to Texas from West Virginia in 1974 where he made residence until his death. Ray worked as a truck driver, most notably at Fabwell in Waco, Texas. Ray retired from truck driving in 2005 and began classes at TSTC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy, and his siblings Howard Thomas, Phyllis Ann and Earnest Dwayne.
He is survived by his children, daughters, Tonya Lanette Marcum of Riesel and Renee Lee Kettler of Waco and sons, Terry Arnold Marcum of Ravencliff, WV, Mark Ty Marcum and wife Lorie of Burleson and June Glenn Marcum and wife Brenda of Cleburne. Also surviving him are his grandchildren, Hutch Kettler, Jackson Kettler, Hannah Marcum, Conor Marcum, Breanna Mayhew and husband Nic, Sadie Wright and husband Jeremy, Stacey McCaskill and husband Josh, Nathaniel Masalta, Ceirra Flores, Dina Flores, Katie Flores, Kellie Flores, Irene Flores; great grandchildren, Kyaus Wright, Emberly Wright and Rylie McCaskill; sister Sandra Marcum of Anderson, Mo. and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
