Rebecca was born and raised in Waco, Texas. She attended Richfield High School and later received her associate’s degree in Mental Health from McLennan Community College.
Rebecca was known as “Mama” by everyone she met. She greeted all with a smile and laugh. She believed in second and third chances and gave freely what she could to all. Rebecca was a huge animal lover and dreamed of having a ranch full of animals who needed a home. Mama loved big and bold and with every fiber of her being. This love showed most with her two daughters and her greatest pride, her grandson.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, Benito Cruz Martinez; mother, Antonia Martinez Rodriguez; older sister, Olivia Martinez; older brother, Adolpho Martinez; and her baby brother, Samuel Martinez.
Rebecca is survived by her husband, Jose Sanchez; two daughters, Moraya Vazquez of Waco and Ivette Lopez and husband, Alfred T. of Waco along with her pride and joy, her grandson, Alijah A. Lopez; sisters, Alice Duron and husband, Margarito of Waco, and Ruth Roman of Waco; brothers, Carlos Martinez of San Antonio, Ben Martinez of Waco, Ruben Martinez and wife, Josefina of Waco; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members.
The world was a brighter place with Rebecca in it.
