Robert Glen Clabby

Robert “Rob” Glen Clabby, 35, of Waco, went to be with the Lord July 25, 2020. He passed away peacefully at home.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service:  1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Church of the Open Door. The family welcomes all who knew Rob to attend.

Rob was born in Waterloo, Iowa on August 23, 1984. He graduated from Midway High School in 2003, where he was voted “most popular” his Senior year. He continued to live up to that reputation throughout his life and made friends wherever he went. Rob never met a stranger!

He joined the Air Force in 2006. After proudly serving in the military, Rob went on to earn his Associate Degree in Social Work and continued to work with fellow Veterans in his community. He was an AA sponsor for many years and helped so many people come to know the Lord through sobriety, and sometimes tough love!

He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Brian Clabby; grandparents, Merel and Virginia Rossow and Jim and Maralin Clabby; and first son, Nathaniel Robert. We have peace in our hearts, knowing his family, friends and and especially his baby boy were there to meet him in Heaven.

He is survived by his wife, Crystal Mendoza Clabby; newborn son, Tyson; beloved daughters, Taylor, Trystan, Khloe and Trinity; his mother and step-father Colleen and Ronnie Stoffregen; mother-in-law, Yolanda Beltran; father-in-law, Gilbert Mendoza (Sonya); brother, Brian Clabby (Lauren); sisters-in-law, Lydia Rose (Brian) and Candice
Mendoza (Hector); as well as five nephews and two nieces.

When a loved one dies young, we find ourselves wondering why? Why did you take our loved one so early?

Rob’s beloved wife Crystal wanted to share what Rob said, the night of his death. He said, “This is the happiest day of my life, we finally have a beautiful house, I mean a home! And we finally have a son to go with our girls. We are complete. I am finally at peace.”

Luke 2:29 states, “Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word.”

“I know he is truly at peace now. I love you Rob, you were my best friend, my Bible study partner, my love”- Crystal
