Ronald Richard “Butch” Baker, 76, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020.
Service Information: A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Butch was born September 17, 1943 in Akron, Ohio to Richard and Alzoria Baker. He enjoyed many things including flying his drone and fishing but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He spent time in the United States Army, where he fought in the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart during that time. Butch worked for 10 years at the Methodist Home as a mechanic. He later opened his own business, Baker’s Speedy Tune, and after that he worked and retired from Durham Transport. Following his retirement, he worked for the Waco Transit. Butch will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mickie Backer; and nephew, Danny Swonger.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Brenda Baker; son, Robert Zimmerman and wife, Sarah; grandchildren, Rachel Zimmerman, Faith Stanley, John Crocker and Ronnie Richard Zimmerman; siblings, Carol Lee, Cindy and Tim; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
