Rosetta Newman, 71, of Waco, formerly of Austin, passed away Sunday, August 19th at her residence. Funeral services will be 10AM Thursday, August 23rd at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeromy Connell officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Wednesday, August 22nd at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Rosetta was born February 9, 1941 in Baton Rouge, LA to Lucien H. and Nellie (McFalls) Stultz. She attended the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin. She married J.T. Newman, Jr. on December 23, 1964. She worked for Texas Workers Compensation Commission for 27 years up until her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Cornelia McCune; and brother, Robert Stultz.
Survivors include husband of 48 years, J.T. Newman Jr.; daughter, Jackie L. Hilmers; granddaughter; Desirae R. Hilmers, all of Waco; brothers, Henry E. Stultz and wife Melva, and Joseph F. Stultz, both of San Antonio, Fritz L. Stultz of Dallas, and Jerry J. Stultz of Kaufman; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
our loss of hilmer;s mom. i know her since i was young. rosetta visited with cervenka. i know her and family… god will bless hilmer and newman family will be strong and she went to golden gate in heaven and rejoiced her family..
