Ruth Elizabeth (Van Horne) Proctor, formerly of Reading, MA, died at home on Monday, December 17, 2012, surrounded by her family in Waco, Texas. She was 86. Burial is in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Reading, MA.
Born January 19, 1926, in Reading, MA, she was the daughter of Sarah Elizabeth (Wakefield) and Thomas George Van Horne. As a young woman, she participated in Rainbow Girls with her friend Margaret Charles. During WW II, she served as a spot welder.
Ruth was a graduate of Reading Memorial High School and studied at Simmons College, Boston. On October 28, 1950, she married Maurice Clifton (Clif) Proctor, Jr. Ruth and Clif were married for 47 years until his death in 1998. Ruth and Clif had two sons. During their sons
