Samuel Joseph Kaplan, 73, of Waco, passed away Monday, April 7th, 2014. Private cremation services entrusted to Lake Shore Funeral Home. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online Guest Book at https://www.lakeshorefuneralhome.com.
Samuel was born on July 6, 1940 in Los Angeles, CA. He graduated from Whittier High School in 1958, and later served his country for four years combined service with the United States Navy, then the United States Air Force. During that time, in 1962, he married his love, Ilene Remson in Brooklynn, NY, and together they had 2 children. After his service to his country was completed, he took a job in upper management with Beacon’s Moving, which took his family to California, Arizona, New Mexico, and multiple cities in Texas. He was a simple man, enjoying simple pleasures. He loved his dogs, and more so, his family. Samuel enjoyed traveling with his family to experience the attractions and landmarks all over the US. Samuel was a very loving husband and father, and will be missed greatly.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Ilene Kaplan of Waco; two daughters, Cindy Nelson and husband Bryan of Troy, and Alise Kaplan of Temple; as well as his two dogs, Schnitzel and Heidi.

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of Sam.
He will be missed.
Ilene,
When I think of Sam, I think of him out for a walk with his dog. He would always give me a wave and a smile. I will remember him that way. I am very sorry for your loss.
