Sara Kaye Yarbrough Henderson, 83, of Hewitt, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 30th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, July 5th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, Waco, TX
Graveside Service: 11:00 AM Saturday July 6th at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, TX
Sara was born August 15,1940 in Port Arthur, TX to E. K. and Karen Olsen Yarbrough.
She graduated from Crawford High School in 1958 where she was a cheerleader and played basketball.
Sara married in 1959 and welcomed 3 children of whom she was very proud, with each having their own special place in her heart. She later married G. L. Henderson and together they had a precious baby boy who everyone adores.
During the 1970’s she worked for Cablevision where she met Elizabeth Bryant, who became her best friend for life, with whom she later embarked on a career in apartment management until she retired.
Sara loved gardening, decorating and everything Baylor Bears. She never missed watching a single game and truth be told, pretty much planned life around them! Sara also loved playing games, especially dominoes with the girls.
Sara was preceded in death by her loving parents, her brother Carvel Yarbrough, brother-in-law Jim Jamieson and most recently by her beloved sister Elma Jamieson. These sisters had such a close bond that they even died exactly one month from each other. As well, she grieved the loss of her furry daughter Roxy.
Left to treasure her memory are her husband G.L., daughters Teri Hall and Jennifer Mercer (Billy Joe), bonus daughter Lisa Bone, sons David Hall, Christopher Henderson (Natasha), Jeffrey Henderson, and her fur baby Steve. She is also survived by her grandsons Ryan Randazzo, Andrew Randazzo (Lisa), Gordon Henderson and David Henderson as well as nieces Sandy Chandler (Wendy), Kellye Chandler and nephew John Chandler (Becky).
The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care provided by Baylor Scott and White Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Waco Habitat For Humanity, P. O. Box 2124, Waco, TX 76703
