Sharon was born on February 4, 1945, the only child of Halsell B. Thomas and Emma Kathlyn Terry. Sharon was living with her mother and grandparents in Pampa Texas while her father was serving in the Army Air Corps in the Philippines.
After the Army her father went to watch repair school in Wichita Falls. He opened Thomas Jewelry in Colorado City, shortly after they moved the business to Sweetwater Texas. Sharon and the family eventually settled in Dimmitt Texas where she resided for 10 years, graduating from Dimmitt High School in 1963, then going on to attended Texas Tech University.
After college she became a flight attendant for Continental Airlines, at one point owning her own business and eventually went on to spend the remainder of her career in marketing for the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and then The Chickasaw Indian Nation of Tishomingo Oklahoma.
Sharon met the love of her life Michael in 1992 and they married on June 30, 1993. When asked how they met she would say “In a Bar”, which was the truth. They were on separate dart teams and the matches were always held in Dart Pubs.
Sharon was a great genealogist and traced her roots back to pre-revolutionary war time and was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed many outdoor activities including fishing, ranching, riding motorcycles and corvettes with her husband Michael.
She is survived by her husband, Michael of 31 years on June 30. One son, John Stephen Mote and wife Amy. Three grandchildren, Matthew Stephen Mote, John Benjamin Mote and James Daniel Mote along with many friends and family who she loved dearly. Sharon was proceeded in death by her parents and son, Robert Thomas Mote.
She will be deeply missed but never forgotten until we see her again.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

It was a pleasure to have known Sharon. My husband and I only got to know her in the last few years. Our heart goes out to Micheal and her family. No more pain and she has gone home. Prayers out for the family at this time.
Attending school with Sharon in Dimmitt TX, I was the one who enjoyed the benefits of Sharon’s being an only child. I was invited to accompany Sharon and her family on both water and snow ski trips, fishing excursions, camping outings. I loved Sharon and her family and spent many sleep-over nights at her house. We both attended Texas Tech, and I was so happy when my glamorous friend became a flight attendant! I rejoiced at the birth of her first child, Robert, and wept with her at his passing. The memories and milestones of our long friendship comfort me now. I’ll miss her.

I was a twirler with Sharon at Dimmitt High School… I have many memories of Sharon helping me learn the routines outside the band hall while the band played…. I admired her ability to be a good listener and friend to so many…. I know she is in the arms of Jesus with no more pain … but I also know how much all her family and friends will miss her…. May God give you the peace you need at this time …

I attended elementary, middle school and high school with Sharon. She was beautiful in every way, smart, energetic and fun to be with. Enjoyed getting reacquainted with her at our recent sixty first high school reunion. And will enjoy even more seeing her again in our eternal heavenly home where she is now happy, joyful and pain free.
May our loving and compassionate Father God provide his peace to Michael and her children and grandchildren and may He help them to recall and celebrate all the wonderful times they have had and memories they have of Sharon.
Michael and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. She was a beautiful lady and I enjoyed knowing her for the short period of time that I was privileged to be around her. Our deepest condolences to you and your family. RIP my friend!

Sharon was beautiful and such a sweet spirit. We enjoyed anytime we get to spend with both of you. She is now your guardian Angel.
Sending love and prayers from Goldsboro. You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May God give you peace and wrap you in His arms as only our Heavenly Father can do. Love you all!
Sharon was a funny, beautiful. caring girl and woman, I am amazed at all she accomplished in her time here on earth. I remember her being in the Miss Grain Sorgum of the Nation in Dimmitt, as one of the 10 finalist she twirled the fire baton, the MC didn’t know if she was going to twirl 5 or a fire baton… I honestly beleive she could have done both. I was lucky enough to have growen closer to Sharon in the last year or so. We spent many hours on the phone laughing… I can just see her twirling and prancing her way into the arms of our LORD. You will be greately missed.
I’m so sorry for your loss Mike. Prayers for you and her family. 🙏🙏
