  9. Cassidy and family- so shocked to see this even though I knew she was ill. I first met Sharon when we were both young and were neighbors. I always thought she was not only so pretty but caring and sweet. Throughout the yrs, we crossed paths occasionally and it was always so good to catch up with her. You were always the hilite of her life, Cass and never failed to talk about you. Thanks to Facebook, we reconnected again and always enjoyed seeing her there. I will certainly miss her but will never forget her. It was my privilege to have known her. May you have comfort in knowing how much she was thought of and loved, Cass, Johnny and family.

  10. Dub and I are sorry to hear the passing of Sharon. We got to know your family when Cassidy and Jennifer played softball and Johnny coached them.
In recent years we would play a fast catchup when we would run into each other at the Beauty Salon. Sharon always had a smile on her face and it lit up when she spoke about her daughter and grandson.
Sending our prayers to all of you

  19. Dear sweet Cassidy,
For as long as I can remember Sharon was a part of the Kocian’s lives. Growing up on 12th street, spending the night at each others homes, Mom and Dad treating her as one of their own daughters, having her Uncle Bud take us to school on rainy days, sharing our crushes, playing tennis at Sul Ross, sharing holiday get together’s, all of these things we keep in our memory bank called family. When Sharon had you we added another memory and another family member, our sweet new niece, Cassidy. From your messages , we knew how you and Johnny provided loving, devoted care to Sharon and how difficult this last month has been on all of you. Your mama was a strong, vibrant, person who is finally free from the terrible confines of her disease. We mourn her and yet are so thankful that she is free. With much love, Aunt Dee

  20. Johnny our condolences go out to you and your family. Sharon was a wonderful person.

  26. Johnny, Cassidy and family, I am so sorry for your loss, but grateful that Sharon is free from her suffering. I knew Sharon for many years at TSTC, and have been on the scary end of a scolding from her about wrongful budget work many times! 🙂 She never failed to correct my errors, to suggest a better way, and to make time for me when I had a question. I watched her walk through ALS with courage and humor, and was so grateful for her presence on Facebook until even that was taken away. Your family has been in my prayers during her illness, and I will continue to remember you in the months to come as you adjust to her absence.

    Blessings,

    Carliss Hyde

What a terrific lady Sharon was. I knew her from West Jr. and Waco High but most recently from Facebook. What a strong, courageous battle she fought surrounded by the love of her family.
