Dad,
I love you with all my heart. You were a mentor, a teacher, and a big teddy bear. Yes, you put up this tuff military type front due to your training I suppose. But,I could see the man beyond that exterior. My greatest memories are our fishing trips. You were a chef beyond comprehension. You had the largest green thumb I have ever seen. You could turn a tiny seed into a California Red Wood. I will forever hold you in my heart dad.
Pawpaw you are going to be greatly missed by many! I sure wish we had been able to have more memories together! I met you for the first time in 2003 and I wish I had been able to spend more time with you but I will cherish the memories I have with you. I am glad you are no longer suffering anymore and we will all meet again someday. I love you so much!
My heart hurts for we are one member short. My prayer is that this time fast forwards and tears disappear into random spurts of out loud laughter of silly moments of days gone by. The “pull my finger” joke for the grand kids or the teeth bobbling in and out to shock a smile. Those are the things that carry us into your memory. God not only has an angel but a jester on his court.
My dearest Paw Paw Shelby my heart is broken but I know you are with our Lord and never have to suffer again. I’m grateful for the few minutes I was able to talk to you. I only wish we had more time together throughout my life. I will miss you so much. Say hello to Daddy, Alexis, and Jennifer for me. I will see you again someday. I love you Paw Paw Shelby very much.

Dear Shirley & Family,
My deepest condolences for you, your Mom and family.
Praying for comfort.
Love, Grace Walton
Some of the earliest memories of my life are sitting with my Paw Paw watching the incredible hulk series from the 70s. You taught me how to fish, to hunt, and a lot of my sense of humor today came from you. You always made me laugh growing up. Chocolate syrup and biscuits will forever be my favorite breakfast lol. Right now I just wish I could get a hug or a phone call that starts with “Heyyy Little buddy, what you up to.” I love you Paw Paw, and I just want to thank you for the memories I’ll carry through my life and pass on to my children and grand-children one day.
I miss you so much Dad, I love you. It would have been nice to see you and spend time with you before you left this earth. You are now with your son David, and I know you are happy to be with him. I will miss talking to you on the phone. I love you Dad.
I didn’t know Shelby but Sheila was a good friend and Jim was also a good friend RIP shelby
