Sonia Madalene Pierce

Sonia Madalene Pierce, 86, of Waco, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Thursday, May 9, 2024.

Sonia was born December 3, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland to Charles and Blanche Powley. She married the love of her life, Edward Henry Pierce on, June 12, 1954. She loved to travel and made lifelong connections with dear friends in Denmark, and Sweden. Every year she and her husband, Ed would assist in the preparation of income taxes at the Waco-McLennan County Library. Sonia and Ed loved to entertain guests in their home and hosted countless memorable dinner parties filled with laughter and love. Sonia was a long-time banker, small business owner and, fitness instructor.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Sonia is survived by her children, Lisa Pierce Harper (Donald), of Oklahoma, Michael Pierce (Diane), of Colorado, Victor Pierce (Angela Ceccato), of Kentucky; grandchildren, Michael Burgess, Sara Pierce, Robert Pierce, Jessika Smith, Heather Harper Ely, Jacob Pierce, and Clifford Curry, as well as great grandchildren, Gabriella, Elliot, Alvin, Robert, Granger, Caroline, and Raleigh.

The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the staff of Wesley Woods for their loving care.
