Sr. Silvestre Galvan

Sr. Silvestre Galvan passed peacefully surrounded by his family on July 22, 2023, at the age of 77.

Celebration of Silvestre will be held at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco, TX on Thursday, July 27^th, at 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. with a rosary to take place at 7 p.m.

Mass will take place at St. Francis Catholic Church 315 Jefferson Ave Waco TX 76701 on Friday, July 28^th, at 10 a.m. Following burial at Rosemound Cemetery, 3201 S 12^th Waco TX 76706.

Silvestre was born in Pinos Zacatecas, Mexico. He was the last child of Asencion Galvan and Rufina Castro. He met Ma. Cirila Salazar and were married over 50 years later. They had nine children together and after raising their children in Mexico, migrated to Texas. He loved to watch soap operas, listen and dance to music and be with family. After retirement, they moved back to his homeland in Mexico, where they spent their time together.

Silvestre is survived by his children, Ma Guadalupe Galvan, Asencion Galvan, Jose Galvan, Consuelo Galvan, Alfredo Galvan, Luis Galvan, Gloria Galvan, Anayeni Galvan, Olivia Galvan. He will be missed by many other relatives and friends.

Sr. Silvestre Galván, falleció pacíficamente rodeado de su familia el 22 de julio de 2023, a la edad de 77 años. La celebración de Silvestre se llevará a cabo en Lakeshore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend en Waco, Tx el jueves 27 de julio, de 6 p.m. a 8 p.m. con un rosario que tendrá lugar a las 7 p.m. La misa tendrá lugar en la Iglesia Católica St. Francis 315 Jefferson Ave Waco Tx 76701 el viernes 28 de julio a las 10 a.m. Después del entierro en Rosemound Cementary, 3201 S 12th Waco Tx 76706

Silvestre nació en Pinos Zacatecas, México. Fue el último hijo de Asencion Galván y Rufina Castro. Conoció y se caso con Ma. Cirila Salazar y tuvieron mas de 50 años de matrimonio. Tuvieron nueve hijos y después de criar a sus hijos en México, emigraron a Texas. Le encantaba ver telenovelas, escuchar y bailar música y estar con la familia. Después de jubilarse, regresaron a su tierra natal en México, donde pasaron su tiempo juntos.

Silvestre le sobreviven sus hijos: Ma Guadalupe Galván, Asencion Galván, José Galván, Consuelo Galván, Alfredo Galván, Luis Galván, Gloria Galván, Anayeni Galván, Olivia Galván. Será extrañado por muchos otros familiares y amigos.

Dios miró alrededor de su jardín y encontró un lugar vacío.

Y luego miró hacia abajo sobre la tierra y vio tu rostro cansado.

Puso sus brazos alrededor de ti, y te levanto a descansar.

El jardín de Dios debe ser hermoso, él siempre toma lo mejor.

Sabía que estabas sufriendo. Él sabía que estabas en dolor.

Sabía que nunca te pondrías bien en la tierra de nuevo.

Vio que el camino se estaba poniendo duro y las colinas eran difíciles de subir,

así que cerró tus párpados cansados, y susurró “La paz sea tuya.”

Nuestros corazones se rompieron al perderte.

Pero no ibas solo, parte de nosotros se fue contigo, el día que Dios te llamó a su casa.
