Stephen Harold Luke, age 70 of Killeen, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 at his residence.
Service: A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, November 12th at Chapel Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Andrew Green officiating.
Mr. Luke was born September 28, 1951 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Harold Henry Luke and Anna Louise Hunze Luke. He taught at Killeen ISD for 24 years focusing on deaf education. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He served his church faithfully as a lay minister. He was a servant of the Lord. He enjoyed spreading the news of Jesus within the deaf community as an active member of the International Lutheran Deaf Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Cynthia Luke. Survivors include his wife, Janet Luke and daughter, Sarah Luke both of Killeen, his mother-in-law, Betty Black of Waco, one sister, Rebecca Jungklaus and husband, Mark of Sealy and one brother, Thomas Luke and wife, Natalie of Michigan and four nephews and one niece.

Oh Sarah, I am so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. My sincere condolences to you and your family.

I am so sorry about losing Steve. He was a wonderful man and every time I saw him he had a genuine caring for other people. The world has lost a great advocate for the deaf community. May he rest in Peace with his parents, sister Cynthia, and those loved ones who have gone before him. The world has lost someone special; and Jesus is saying “well done, good and faithful servant.” Steve, send my love to Bob when you see him there.
