Steve Harvey, 53, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco.

Steve was born May 14, 1964 in Miami to James and Barbara Harvey. He spent his grade school years in Florida, but moved with his family to China Spring in 1975. Steve played football in junior high school and in the band during his high school years. He graduated from China Spring High School in 1983 and went on to receive an Associate Degree from Texas State Technical College in Automotive Technology. After graduation, he went to work for Gordon Rountree Oldsmobile-Cadillac in Waco for several years. Later, he worked for his father as a buyer at China Spring Automotive.
Steve married Gina Neal in 1986. His son, Cody was born in 1988. Steve enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and especially hunting. He was excited when he shot a black bear in Alaska and was featured in the Guinness Book of World Records. Steve enjoyed snow skiing trips to Colorado with his son, Cody in the winters.
Later in life, Steve obtained his CDL license and drove semi trucks for several trucking companies in West Texas oil fields. He really enjoyed his work. Steve was blessed with the love of two families.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Harvey Jr.; his brother, Tommy; and his aunt, Jackie.
Steve is survived by his mother, Barbara Harvey and step-father, James Stout of Waco; his wife, Rebecca Harvey of Waco; his son, Cody Harvey and wife, Allison of Waco; two step-daughters, Necole Inskeep and husband, Johnny and Breana Rodriguez; and one step-son, Damian Rodriguez all of Waco. He is also survived by three wonderful grandchildren, “Yaz”, Landon and Bryan; several aunts, uncles and cousin who loved him very much.
The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and doctors at Providence Hospice Place for their loving care and comfort in our time of need.

MMy prayers go out to the family, I remember Steve as one of the nicest guys around. May he Rest In Peace.
I helped care for Mr. Harvey. Although I did not know him I can tell from the video he loved life and the outdoors. It is hard for the loved ones that are left behind, a void that can not be filled. But I pray the peace of God over you and your family and that you may take comfort in knowing that death is only temporary. ????????
