  1. OMG "Whip", I am in shock and disbelief. Your passing has left a hole in "our music" – the blues will not be the same without you. The Class of 1972, Richfield High School has lost a good friend, talented athlete & musician and a soulful spirit who will be missed by so many…

  2. No more Giant Squid…rest in peace, brother

  3. Always enjoyed being with Steve. He helped me build three houses 30 years ago. When he lived in San Marcos he would always take me out for great Mexican breakfast !!!!! Great guy that will be missed.

    Craig and Family:
We were so sorry to hear about your loss. Steve and I had many fun times growing up in the neighbor hood. He was a wonderful guy and will be truly missed.

Always remember the good times and your heart will hold your memories very dear.

God Bless and know that we are here for you whatever you need.

  10. I was just thinking about Steve the other day, and the thought brought a smile. He was very funny – with such a deadpan delivery! That slow drawl, and a twinkle in his eye when I got the joke. I was lucky to know him, and it’s been thirty years since I last saw Steve. I’ve remembered him fondly for all these years. What an epitaph!

  11. Met Steve in college and bonded over music and beer. One of the funniest people I’ve ever met; a loyal, wonderful friend and just a tremendous guy.

  12. Shelley Coleman Johnson
