He moved to Teague in 1984 to help run The Teague Chronicle, the Family Business, until he retired July 1, 2017 as Chief Editor for 33 years. He was the kind of man willing to give you the shirt off his back, always helping others without ever expecting anything in return. He enjoyed arrowhead hunting, golfing, fishing, hunting, coaching baseball and being on the lake and most of all spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.
Survivors include his oldest daughter , Amanda Gerdeman and husband John Gerdeman; youngest daughter, Amber Moye and husband Robert Moye; grandchildren, Nicholas Gerdeman, Abigail Gerdeman and Eva Moye; sister, Sheri Collins and husband David Collins; brother, Michael Massey. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and uncle.
The family would like to thank you for all the love and support given to Steve and our family during this difficult time.
