Sue Baker Benton, 81, passed away peacefully Friday, August 12, 2022, at 10:17 AM at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple, TX.
Memorial Service: 2:00PM, Saturday, August 27 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel. Reception to follow.
Sue was born December 12th, 1940, in Waco to Leon and Madge Baker. She lived in Waco most of her life and attended Waco High School and McLennan Community College. Sue worked at Owen Illinois, Glass plant where she started on the assembly line packing bottled and worked in the shipping office when she retired in 1994.
Sue dearly loved her three boys, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She always had a welcoming beautiful home with an abundance of green plants and flowers. She loved gardening at home on the river. She was an avid reader and worked crossword puzzles in ink. She loved catching fish, not cleaning them; she enjoyed many trips to the ocean and sea fishing. She knew more jokes than anyone and loved laughing and visiting with her friends and family. She was loved and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon, and Madge Baker; beloved sister, Jackie “Neno” and brother-in-law, Kenneth Trapolina; brother, Richard “Itchie” Baker and beloved companion Danny Cummins.
Sue is survived by her son, Barry Lee Benton and wife Pam; granddaughter, Madison Benton and grandson, Kolton Benton; her son William Ray “Billy” Benton and wife Debbie; granddaughter Casey Billingsley, great grandsons Landon and Jackson Alonzo, granddaughter Kori Benson and great grandson Ty Benson; her son Donald Gene “Gener” Benton; her ex-daughter-in -law Belinda Benton, grandson Cody Benton and wife Alexandra, great grandsons Cayden and Nash and great granddaughter, Birdie; granddaughter Tabitha Benton and great granddaughter Emery Ward. Sue is also survived by her sister-in-law Louis Kay Baker, nieces Shawn and husband Gary Wayne Buckner, Lisa, Tracy, Rebecca, and Samantha; great nephews, Mathew and Mitchell Buckner, Kristoph, Sean and Jonah, great nieces Megan and Chelsea; and other extended family members and many, many friends.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cody Benton, Kolton Benton, Cayden Benton, Landon Alonzo, Jackson Alonzo and Nash Benton

You have always been a part of our heart and our lives especially when Tabby and Cody were little . They always knew you loved them dearly and their kiddos .
