Susan Lumpkin Koerth, lovingly known as “Susie”, 56, most recently of Robinson, was called to a new home where pain and suffering do not exist, on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.
Visitation: Friday, February 19, 2016 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, Waco.
Service celebrating Susie’s life: 10:00AM Saturday, February 20th in the chapel at Lake Shore Funeral Home.
Burial: China Spring Cemetery.
Susan’s work on earth is done; she fought a brave fight against her opponent, cancer. Susie was born in Waco, Texas to Aileen (Stanford) and Lawrence Lumpkin on Nov. 11, 1959. Graduating from University High School, Susie chose to raise her family in the China Spring area. She lived life to the fullest. Susie’s energy and work ethic were matched by few. Spending time with her family was one of her favorite pastimes along with being outdoors and throwing a good line for fishing. Susie’s greatest honor in life were her children and grandchildren. Her beloved Bassett Hound, Buddy, was her constant companion.
Susie will be joined in heaven by both sets of grandparents, Jeff and Minnie Alice Lumpkin and Faye and Dolph Stanford. Also welcoming her home will be her brother, Michael Lumpkin.
She was a great daughter, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Left to remember her smile and love of family are her parents, Aileen & Lawrence Lumpkin; her son, Shawn Koerth and his wife Tabetha; her daughters, Shelly Koerth and her fiancé Bruce Wagoner and Stephanie Smelscer and her husband Blaine; her sister, Jo Michalak and her husband Rick; grandchildren, Marshal Koerth, Gabriel Koerth, Lucy Koerth, Penny Koerth, Greyson Wagoner, Elliott Smelscer, Noah Smelscer, Roxanne Wagoner and Bruce Wagoner, Jr.; along with numerous other loving family members and friends.
She was loved by many and is now singing with the angels.
Memorial donations in Susie’s memory should be sent to Fuzzy Friends, 6321 Airport Rd., Waco, 76708 or to Providence Hospice, 300 Highway 6, Waco 76712.

Susie was a great boss and great friend. We had many good times together at Fleetwood. She will be greatly missed. Prayers go out to the family.
Susan was one of my first friends when I started to Meadowbrook in the second grade, and continued all the way through high school. I have a lot of fun childhood memories of her. The word that comes to mind when I think of her is “Spunky”! She was always a ball of energy and fun. Sending love and prayers to her family.
