Sylvia Orr (Pipkins-Liles), known affectionately as Granny by many. Mrs Sylvia, passed away on April 17, 2024 at a local hospital with her family at her bed side. Mrs. Orr was born in Amity, Arkansas in 1941 to the late Ida Louise Pipkins and Arthur Lee. She was a beacon of strength, love, and resilience in her family and community.

Sylvia was a fan of the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley. Her favorite pastime was being with her grandchildren. Mrs. Sylvia was an outspoken, strong-willed woman, and steadfastly believed that there was nothing she couldn’t do. She taught her family to never accept a “no” from anyone and to always try before surrendering. Her legacy is that of a woman absolutely loved and adored by many, a woman who made a profound impact in the lives of many.

She was preceded in death by her siblings; Sherry Pipkins, Joyce Caruthers, and, Carol Pipkins, and her precious great grandchildren; Zianne Rene and Ezekiel A’mir.

Sylvia is lovingly remembered by her family. Left to grieve her loss are daughters; Sandra Hahn, and Beverly Idemudia, son-in-law; Allen Malichi, loving sister; Marilyn Mahoney, Grandchildren; Ashley, Malcolm, Tyji, Nicosia, DeAndre, Christal, Tasha, Alicia, Amanda, Te’Outeonna, Lyric, Ma’jorie, Zariah and, Nicosia, Jr., as well as many great-grandchildren.

Known as “Granny” to all, her absence leaves a void never to be filled by another. She will be immensely missed.
