Thelma Ford Hamm, 99, a life-long resident of Waco, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at her residence. At her request, her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Hamm was born November 20, 1916 in Waco to John and Nora Ford. She graduated from Baylor University and Texas Tech University. Mrs. Hamm taught school in the Waco Public School District for 35 years. She was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church for 80 years and was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Beta Phi for 50 years.
Mrs. Hamm is survived by her daughter, Thelma Lee Nelson of Waco; two sons, Bob Hamm and wife, Mary of San Diego and Barry Hamm and partner, Jack Gunther of San Diego; four grandchildren, Kimberly Mills and husband, Paul of Robinson, Kevin Engelbreckt and wife, Rita of Axtell, Kyle Engelbreckt of Waco and Elizabeth Ranta and husband, Kirk of San Diego; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
