Theora Moore Davis “Gran Gran”, 90 years old, went to see her Lord on Saturday, May 12, 2018.
Service Information:Visitation will be at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend Drive, Waco, TX, Thursday, May 17, 2018, 6-8pm. Services will be held at noon, Friday, May 18, 2018 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 125 Turner Street, Waco, TX.
Theora Davis was born September 29, 1927 to William Theodore Moore and Amanda (Reed) Moore in Hubbard, Texas.
Theora was a member of Lawson Chapel United Methodist Church in Hubbard, Texas. She later became a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Waco, Texas where she served for over 45 years.
She attended grade school in Hubbard, Texas and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Mount Pleasant, Texas in 1946. Upon graduating from high school, Theora would then embark on a long career as a self-employed businesswoman. Such businesses included a beauty salon, café, and a boarding home for disabled veterans which she continued until retirement.
Theora was known to many as “Gran Gran”. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and lived in various states during her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore Moore and Amanda Moore and her brothers Harvey Moore and Lonnie Moore, Sr .
Theora “Gran Gran” leaves to adorn her memory, her daughter Connie Foreman of Waco, Texas; three granddaughters, Sheronda Davis (Willie) of Houston, Texas, Shanequa Williams (Terrance) of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Sharee Walker of Houston, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Taylor Davis, Andre Davis, Romin Seymour, Terrance Williams II, and Tyler Williams; nieces; Sandra Moore of San Antonio, Texas, Marty Moore of Oakland, California and Linda Volpe of Toronto, Canada; nephews, James Moore of San Antonio, Texas, Clifford Moore of San Antonio, Texas, and Larry Moore (Marie) of Flower Mound, Texas; dear friend, Irma Coleman of Waco, Texas; and a host of relatives and friends.
