Theresa was born on May 11, 1962 in Birmingham, Alabama. She knew at a young age she wanted to be a nurse and began her journey as a CNA. After graduating, she served in several nursing roles including working in Ireland for over a year. Her final role was in corporate nursing at Mars Corporation in Waco. Countless people benefited from her dedicated service as a nurse over the years.

In better times, Theresa was full of adventure, was a wonderful friend, and had a bright and contagious smile. We would like to give a special thanks to Francesca Nyquist and Michael Strutt who, among others, helped her in difficult times.
We would also like to thank the wonderful hospital and hospice staff at Baylor Scott and White in Waco. Rest in Peace, Theresa.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Furry Friends, 6321 Airport Road, Waco, Texas, a no-kill shelter where her beloved Atticus, Bridget, and Mexia now reside.

I’m sorry I wasn’t able to speak with her before her passing. We last spoke after my mother passed in May this year. I would have come to visit if I had know she was that ill. We have been friends since 1985 and were roommates in Austin and went to Mexico together. I will really miss her! So sorry for your loss. She was a great friend.
Theresa was a great friend and I miss her deeply. We often talked about her returning to Austin where I live and where we met. She was the friend that helped me through so much and stood with me when I got married. She helped me many times with my mother. At one point she resuscitated her from death. My family will always thank her for giving us more time with Mom. Theresa made sure my daughter had a homemade birthday cake and party when I was absent with my dying mother. To Theresa’s family, I am sorry for your loss.
Theresa had a beautiful heart and was so unselfish in the sharing of her love to others. She was truly a wonderful professional nurse giving the healing touch to so many patients and families she cared for. I will miss Theresa’s smile, laughter, glow, sincerity, thoughtfulness, humor in addition to her gifted insight about life’s offerings. I am honored to have known this exceptional woman and to have called her, “My friend.” Months back when Theresa’s health began to decline, I dedicated a popular Rolling Stones’ song to her. The song accurately captured Theresa’s colorful qualities, essence, talents, and inherent beauty. The song’s title: “She’s a Rainbow”.
