Tommy “Goose” Gaskamp, 70, of Mart, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at his residence.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 8, at Lake Shore Funeral Home
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 9, at Lake Shore Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Krueger officiating.
Burial: Rosemound Cemetery in Waco
Goose was born in Hillsboro and graduated from Bynum High School in 1965. He briefly drove for Central Freight before retiring from TXDOT after 30 years of service. He enjoyed playing basketball, softball with the Mad Dogs and Miller Lite, officiating football, and was an avid golfer. During his retirement years, he pursued his dream of farming and gardening. He also enjoyed woodworking and tinkering with old tractors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Fritz Gaskamp and Edna Koehler Gaskamp; his brother, Harvey Gaskamp; and his son, Larry “Bubba” Gaskamp.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie; his daughter, Jennifer Branch and husband, Rick; granddaughter, Katie; and his brother, Jerry Gaskamp.
Pallbearers will be Rick Branch, Richard Carrigan, Clint Zettler, Tommy Neill, Bobby Nawara and Sean McNeely.

As one of his former employees with the Highway Dept. he always remembered my birthday because it was the day before his dads. He was a super person and I just know he is back on his tractor up there in heaven waving down on all of us! RIP

Tommy and I started at Central about the same time and ran many miles together. He was a great friend to all who knew him. My prayers go to his family. Rest in peace Buddy, you will never be forgotten.
