Tommy Dee Newton passed away June 16, 2023 at the age of 62. Tommy was born in Austin, Texas May 23, 1961 but moved to Hamilton, Texas in the 80’s and became a long time resident.
The family will have a private celebration of Tommy’s life at a later date.
As a child, Tommy loved to take bicycles and other toys apart to see how they worked so it was no surprise that as an adult he worked as a mechanic becoming skilled in small engine repair. Many Hamilton residents may know Tommy as the “lawn mower guy” or the humorous guy that knew how to work on stuff and make you laugh.
He is preceded in death by his son, Billy Ray Newton; mother, Janet Reutebuch; father, Allen Newton; stepfathers, John Reutebuch and John McKinzie; maternal grandmother, Beulah Collins (Nanny), and many other beloved extended family members.
Tommy is survived by his son, Thomas Newton; grandson, Travis Newton of Spicewood; brother and sister, Jerry and Cindy McKinzie of Canyon Lake; sisters, Debbie Jahns and Nancy Young of Austin, and Jeanne Starr of Hamilton, and also by all their husbands, wives, children, and grandchildren. Tommy also had many friends that continued to remain constants in his life to the day he passed.
