Tommy Lynn Meyer was born October 25, 1962, and went for his last ride November 21, 2023.
Visitation: 6 – 8PM Thursday, November 30 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 2PM Friday, December 1 at Lake Shore Funeral Home. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Eddy Cemetery.
Tommy was born to Fred and Jo Ann Meyer in Waco, TX, and was the youngest of five children. He graduated from Bruceville-Eddy High School, where he met his wife of 37 years, Terri.
After high school Tommy worked for the railroad, then went to work farming for Chee Tolbert to be closer to his family, and “take his kids to school in the morning” when the time came. During this time Tommy served his community with the Bruceville Eddy Volunteer Fire Department. He was always the first one to arrive at the station – ready to help, Dr. Pepper in hand. Tommy left farming to haul cattle, where “Scorpio” took pride in his big truck and helping fellow drivers.
Tommy knew the importance of family and served others selflessly. From being a devoted husband, to a caring and constant father and grandfather, or helping a friend or even a stranger, he “showed up” for everyone. He was proud of the life he and Terri built together and their children – from going to Jason’s HS basketball games and shouting at the refs, restoring his ’72 or “Old Blue” with Jordan, seeing Cheyenne compete at state powerlifting and graduating from college, to holding and playing with Lochlan.
He enjoyed NASCAR, good food, telling a story or sharing a laugh, and helping his son Jordan tinker on the next project. When he wasn’t working or fixing his Big Truck you could find him watching a race, helping with the family BBQ – and buy entirely too much food, having breakfast in Eddy or Lorena with a buddy – often Vernie Marshall or Jason Robinson, or spending time with his loved ones. Tommy was dependable to his core.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Jo Ann Meyer; as well as his brother, Little Fred.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Terri; sons, Jason and Jordan; daughter, Cheyenne; daughter in law, Arden; and grandson, Lochlan, as well as many other wonderful family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in Tommy’s memory to The Bruceville-Eddy Volunteer Fire Department.

Amen to the statements! He was the ULTIMATE SERVANT! I would like 2 think upon having his heart attach,
he knew he did not want to wreck or injure anyone else–so he drove the truck into the ditch. No greater thing can we do than lay our life down for OTHERS

Tommy was 4 days younger than me. We both lived in Bruceville and played together as kids. Tommy was the first friend I had upon moving to the small town in 1973.
Tommy was always kind and a great guy.
His parents let him drive when we were just 13… I fondly remember going for rides in his Dad’s truck pretending to be big kids.
My condolences to his family. The B.E community lost a lifetime member.
Tommy was a great friend! Many times I handed him a homemade taco and a cold Dr Pepper. And always got a Big hug and a grateful smile.
We will be keeping each of his family and friends in our prayers.
May God give each of you strength, comfort and peace.
Rest easy my dear friend.

To the Meyer family. I considered Tommy my friend and the best truck driver I ever loaded. It was always such a joy to start out your day loading Tommy Meyer. He was such a professional at what he did and truly enjoyed his work. I am proud to call him my friend. I am sure many cattlemen referred to Tommy as their truck driver. Thank you Tommy for always hitting the chute the first time!

My condolences to Tommy’s family and friends. My loss that I missed meeting and knowing such a person as he has been described.
I am sorry to have to miss his services.
My sincerist condolences to the Meyer family. I grew up with Tommy in Bruceville Eddy and he was like a big brother to me during those school years. He always had a smile and a kind word for all those he knew. I saw him in the Spring at another classmates funeral full of life and hugs for his fellow attending classmates. I would have never imagined I would have to say goodbye to him by the end of the year. Rest in God’s sweet peace Tommy, dear friend and classmate. You are loved by many and will be missed greatly. May God’s comfort be with the family.
He was my friend. I will miss him daily.
