TyQuavis DeMarcus Goode, Jr.

Ty Obit Pic(1)

On September 2, 2024, at the tender age of 6, TyQuavis Goode left this world after a courageous battle with Menkes Disease.

Visitation: 6-8PM Friday, September 13, 2024 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 10AM Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

TyQuavis was born with a condition called Menkes disease, which is a severe neurodegenerative hereditary disorder that has affected TJ since birth.  TJ thrived and flourished from an infant to starting his 1st-grade year at Woodway Elementary 2024.  He enjoyed traveling with his family, loved the attention and entertainment from his cousins, and was super amused by videos on his iPad.  He relished the activities of the petting zoo, took pleasure in social activities with his classmates, and was elated to become a big brother!! TJ had become a SUPERHERO, a figure, endowed with superhuman powers for fighting adversity, calamity, misery, and tribulation.  He embraced his life, fought through his storms, and when God whispered his name he gently and quietly slept.  TJ is our SUPERHERO!!!

We are grateful for all TJ’s memories and every moment we shared with TJ.  He has inspired us to continue to love, hope, dream, and stay encouraged to live life to the fullest.  We will miss your hugs, high-fives, and huge giggles. But most of all, I’ll miss your little hands holding ours!!

TyQuavis is survived by his mother, Tiarra Dotson; father, TyQuavis Goode; sister, Skylar Montgomery; brother, Traycen Goode; grandparents, Carla Bolridge, Donte Dotson, Trina Hamilton, and Jimmy Goode (Angel); great-grandparents, Lena Bolridge, Helen Hamilton, Larry (Yolanda) Dotson and Bennie Goode; great-great-grandmother, Margaret Hamilton; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Marvin Bolridge and Jimmy Goode, Sr..

The family would like to thank Midway ISD, Care Options for Kids, Dr. Stephen Chak, Plano Children’s Health, and Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital for all the kindness and care they provided for TyQuavis.

Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Scottish Rite Hospital-Dallas.

Place of Service: Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel , 5201 Steinbeck Bend; Waco, TX 76708
