Wilson “Gene” Dorris Jr., 51, of Aquilla, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, in Waco.
Memorial Service: 2PM, Saturday, May 3rd at New Life Fellowship Church, 18281 Gholson Rd, Waco, with Rev. Chris Silva officiating.
Gene was born January 18, 1963 to Wilson and Margaret (Carpenter) Dorris. He attended schools in Gholson and Aquilla. Gene was a carpenter by trade during his lifetime. He enjoyed remodeling homes and making things. He could take wood and build anything you wanted out of it.
Gene also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He was always up for a spur of the moment trip to Louisiana chase Lady Luck at the riverboat casinos. Gene was a prankster and loved playing practical jokes on people. He also had a fine collection of Coca-Cola memorabilia. He will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Beverly Weinkauf.
Those left behind to cherish his memories include his “kids”, Donna, Christina, Lee, Catherine, and Cody; three grandchildren; brother, Eddie and wife, Renee; sister, Jennifer, and Fat Mac; former wife Helen, who he held a special bond with until his last breath; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
The family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff at Providence Hospice for their care and compassion during Gene’s final days.
