Max Courter 89, of Chalk Bluff, formerly of Bosqueville, Texas passed away at his residence on January 4, 2024.

Max was born on August 21, 1934 in Arkansas City, Kansas. He was the youngest child of the late Buell Courter and Lora (Wallace) Courter.
Max proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1954 – 1962. While he was stationed at the Connally Air Force base in Waco where he met and married Bettie Fortson Scott. They were married on September 24, 1955 and spent 66 years together until her passing in November of 2021.
Max was a man with many talents from making something out of nothing, to making the most intricate jewelry boxes and wooden decor with his scroll saw. He could repair anything.
After 18 years of service Max retired from the McLennan County Maintenance Department as the Assistant Maintenance Supervisor. Before his employment with the county Max held a few other jobs, but he mostly enjoyed working for the county and meeting new people.
Max is preceded in death by his wife, Bettie; parents; brothers, Bill and JC Courter; and sister, Catherine Swank.
He leaves behind his daughter, Lynette Rogers and husband Jay; son, Brian Courter and his wife Rosalind; sister, Fern Allison; granddaughters, Jennifer Rogers and wife Simone Flottman-Rogers, and Sara Glatter and partner Frank Castillo; grandson, Thomas Glatter; great grandchildren, Djuna Rogers, Jonah Rogers and Cohen Castillo; sister-in-law, Laurita Kuehl; brother-in-law, Bill Leach; and numerous other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition, he leaves behind his fur baby Kitty-Cat.
