Walter Earl McCaleb born October 15, 1940 in Caradan, Texas and passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 in Austin,Texas at the age of 83.

Visitation in honor of his life will be Wednesday, June 5th from 6-8pm at Lake Shore Funeral Home. Burial services will follow on Thursday, June 6, 2024, 10am at Cego Cemetery. 

Walter was born to George Knox and George Ada McCaleb. He graduated from Goldthwaite High School in 1958. Shortly thereafter, he met and married Linda McKee in 1959. Their family grew with 2 daughters and a son. They moved to Bosqueville in 1972. Walter and Linda joined Bosqueville Baptist Church where they raised their family and Walter served as a deacon.  He also served on the Bosqueville ISD School Board for many years. Walter and Linda were married 43 years before her passing in 2002. Years later Walter found love again and married Betty Jordan in 2015. They were married 5 years before her passing in 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 43 years Linda McKee McCaleb; wife of 5 years Betty Jordan; granddaughter Amie McCaleb; brothers Howard McCaleb and Frank McCaleb.

Family left behind to continue his legacy are daughter, Sherry Kane and husband Jim of Round Rock; son Milton McCaleb and wife Terrie of Florence; daughter Becky Bass and husband Tommy of Waco.  Grand children; Lindsay Bright and husband Nolan; Grayson McCaleb; Addison Breckenridge and husband David; Levi Bass; and Kathryn Kane. Great-grandchildren; Huxley, Hendrix, Haxyn and Harper Bright.  Sister; Jane Standfield, sister-in-law; Della McCaleb; many nieces and nephews, Step children; Angela Carpenter and family, John Jordan and family.
