Wanda Jean Thomas, 84, of Waco, passed away Sunday morning, August 2, 2020 at her home.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 6, at McGregor City Cemetery in McGregor, Texas
Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 6, at McGregor City Cemetery with Chaplain Rick Aguilar officiating
Wanda was born February 23, 1936 in Waco to Marvin Haferkamp and Ruby Barton Haferkamp. She worked for 10 years as a cook in the cafeteria at Baylor University.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Thomas Jefferson “Dick” Smith; her second husband, James “Jim” Thomas; daughters, Johnnie Rushing and Wanda Hutyra; sons, Thomas “Jr.” Smith, Rodger Smith, Guy Smith and Randy Smith; and brothers, James Bean and Kenneth Bean.
Wanda is survived by her sons, Dick Smith and wife, Threasa of Waco, Dickie Smith and wife, Kim of Axtell, Jimmy Smith and wife, Donna of McGregor, Troyce Thomas and wife, Dawn of Oklahoma and Wilburn Thomas of Waco and Ricky Thomas and wife, Leslie of Weatherford; her sisters, Betty Light and Patsy Perkins; her brother, Eddie “Rudy” Bean and wife, Rachel of Clifton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Thomas, Hank Smith, Andy Smith, Tristin Smith, Justin McCaig and Dakota Smith.
