Wayne Kent Green, 83, of Waco, passed away suddenly Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
Memorial Visitation: 6:30pm Friday, June 28 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.
Wayne was born February 22, 1941, in Waco. His parents were Brantley William Green and Beatrice McBride Green. He attended Waco public schools and graduated from Waco High School in 1960.
He owned several businesses in Waco, including Western Union and worked at Walmart in Bellmead, TX until retiring in 2006.
Wayne had a soft heart and a generous spirit but was not shy about offering his opinion. Small children and pets adored him. He enjoyed the theater and often traveled to Dallas or Ft. Worth to see touring Broadway shows. No stranger to good food, he knew practically every restaurant worth mentioning in the Central Texas area. Wayne was especially fond of Mexican, German and Mediterranean foods and a good steak. He walked the Mall for several years, making good friends while doing so. He wanted to say special thanks to Connie Williams and Maxine Hansen for all the good times they shared lunching and going to garage sales.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Brantley and Beatrice Green; sister, Esther Marr; brother, Thomas Green.
He is survived by a close circle of friends: Malcolm Norwood, Stephanie Robert, Cynthia Rodgers and Cliff and Vickie Kroll who will miss him greatly.

Wayne, you were a great coworker at Bellmead Walmart, I worked with you from January 1995-April 1998. You were a sweet man, always friendly, cared about everyone that you met. You will be missed. Rest in peace, God bless you 🙏🙏!
