William F. Hitchner, 77, of Waco, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016.
Memorial Service: Bill’s family and friends will gather to remember and memorialize his life and his faith at 10:30AM on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1601 South Robinson Road, Robinson, TX 76706.
Bill was born May 31, 1938 in Salem, New Jersey to the late William and Pearl Mae Hitchner. After graduating high school, Bill served his country in the United States Army as an MP and was honorably discharged in 1959. Bill’s love for the open road and travel gave him a solid base for Hitchner Trucking; he drove many miles in his “Freightliner”, over the last 32 years. Bill enjoyed spending time with family, friends, spoiling his grand-children and his pups. His pups brought him great companionship and love. Bill married his love, Glenda Darlene Woodard, on November 29, 1997 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Robinson. It was then, Glenda told him that he was officially and honorary Texan. Bill will be deeply missed and cherished. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Pearl Hitchner; brothers, Vernon Hitchner and Charles Hitchner; son, Justin Yates and son-in-law, Dell Warnick.
Bill will be remembered with love by his wife of over 20 years, Glenda Hitchner; his children, William F. Hitchner, Jr., Melody M. Hitchner, Mickie L. Burns and her husband David and Shawn W. Hitchner and his wife Heather; brother, George Schmidt; grand-children, Courtney Noel Yates, Harmony Hitchner, Jeremy Oliver, Jameson Gutcher, Symphony Cornwell-Hitchner, Stewart M. Peck, Amanda Peck, Jacob Flint, Sathe Hitchner and Bryce Hitchner; great grandchildren, Alexis Tohafjian and Aria Harris; along with a host of other loving family and friends.
