William “Fred” Bridger, Jr., age 76, of Hewitt, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024.

Funeral Service: 11am Tuesday, May 21 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Freedman officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation and Viewing: will be one hour prior to the service.

Fred was born October 4,1947 in Waco to Mildred Joyce (Marlatt) and William Fred Bridger, Sr. He graduated from University High School, Class of 1966. Fred worked, managed, and owned multiple loan companies in various places in Texas. He was an entrepreneur in the restaurant and bar industries; he owned and operated Fred & Wally’s, Hog Creek Icehouse, and more. Later, Fred found his passion by becoming the leading National Salesman for PFG – Roma Company in the food supply industry for almost 15 years, up until the time of his illness. He married Kim Denton on August 16, 2003. He attended Bethel Methodist Church in Robinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William F. (Bill) Bridger, Sr., and Midred (Marlatt) Stone.

Survivors include wife, Kimberly Bridger; special “four-legged” companion, Suzie Q; sons, Richard Bridger and Dennis Bridger; grandchild, Reese Bridger; sister, Sherry Garrett; in-laws, Fran and Marcie Barletta; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Lisa) Denton, and Keith (Pam) Denton; special nephew, James Garrett; and numerous other relatives, and many friends.

The family would like to acknowledge a special thanks to Bluebonnet Hospice, especially nurse Kelly, and nurse’s aide, Amanda.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
